FOREST CHURCH

The third Sunday of the month at 4pm
Meet outside the Schenley Park Visitors Center

Forest Church is an outdoor contemplative service. We don't read from the Bible here. Instead, our text is the Creation, aka God's Other Book.

After walking down into the park, we split up for twenty minutes to silently contemplate nature. You can spend that time however you like, but we recommend focusing on one of three ways in:

Study: what are you learning about how the ecosystem works?

Awe: how do you feel about what you are observing?

Meaning-making: could this be a metaphor about something in your life right now?

Don't bother checking your watch or your phone; we'll ring a bell when it's time to regather for conversation. Then anyone can share about what they experienced as we reflect together on where the Holy Spirit showed up for us.

Because we don't use the Bible, hymns, or traditional prayers here, Forest Church is often a good fit for those with church hurt or who otherwise just can't find God in a pew.

Forest Church is open rain or shine during all four seasons. Remember to dress for the weather!
