About the Event
In the second half of the 19th century, three generations of young, rebellious artists and designers revolutionized the visual arts in Britain by engaging and challenging the new industrial world around them. The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and champions of the Arts & Crafts Movement offered a radical artistic and social vision inspired by the pre-industrial past.
These artists went against the grain. And in a similar way, The Commonwealth goes against the grain of what church is expected to be. Like the Victorian radicals, we're also drawing on the past in order to re-envision the present and future.
After walking the exhibit, we'll settle in at the museum's cafe to talk about how these radicals can inspire us to be what we are called to be. If we aren't able to find a safe, comfortable place to sit we'll reconvene later on Zoom instead.
Meet up in the rotunda. Admission is $15 for adults; $13 for seniors/students/military; $8 for kids up to age 16; free for kids 5 and under. Contact Mike or Erin to have your ticket sponsored by The Commonwealth.
