Good Christians Don't Do That: An Alternative to Purity Culture

"But good Christians don't do that!"

Sometimes  it feels like shame and taboo are the only tools that Christianity has  for talking about sex. Oh, and notions of purity and privilege.

But what if there is an alternative, sex-positive framework? One that embraces the wisdom of our experiences and modern science along with the Scriptures and traditions of Christianity? One that acknowledges changing expectations around marriage? One that not only makes space for same-sex relationships but cherishes the wisdom of the LGBTQIA+ community?

For the next several Sundays we are creating safe space for constructive conversation about sexuality guided by the principles of doing no harm, free consent, mutuality, equality, commitment, fruitfulness, and social  justice.

Our prayer is that at the end of this time you will feel empowered to make good choices for yourself and feel that your *whole* self belongs to  this community!
